Chris Brown paints on muscles for performance at BETs

He had to come up with a special routine to stop people talking about his recent bar brawl with rival Drake.
And volatile Chris Brown just about managed it at the BET Awards tonight when he painted muscles onto his torso before strutting his stuff during an extravagant laser show.
He raised the level of performance even further by pulling off a series of acrobatic moves on stage, including handstands and back-flips, during a medley of Don't Wake Me Up and Turn Up The Music.

He was also surrounded by a group of dancers in muscle paint for the performance, launching the routine into new levels of camp.

With his sparring partner not attending the event, the way was clear for Chris to put on a show-grabbing effort.

And he was surely relieved Rihanna was also not there, preventing minds from drifting back to his 2009 conviction for viciously assaulting his then girlfriend.
It was certainly a sweet night for the 23-year-old pop favourite, who only covered half his body in paint, perhaps due to the fact he got a new tattoo on his neck earlier this week.

For he won Best Male RnB Artist at the ceremony, beating off the likes of Usher in the process.
However he also delivered a shock, hinting that his retirement could be on the cards.
He teased the crowd during his acceptance speech, telling them Fortune, his album due out Tuesday, will be his 'last.'
Chris later tweeted: 'Thanks BET for letting me perform and all the support!'
