Boy, 3, shot himself in the head after finding gun on top of TV
A three-year-old boy was in critical condition on Monday evening after shooting himself in the head with a gun that was left on top of his TV.
Lucas Heagren, from Mount Vernon, Ohio, was flown to Knox Community Hospital just after 6.30pm.
At the time, his grandfather, mother, father and two younger siblings were home.

Scene: Lucas is believed to have found the gun on top of the TV at his Ohio home and shot himself above the left eye
His mother Kaitlin Campbell called 911 and said the gun was sitting on top of the TV 'where he usually can't reach it'.
She said he had shot himself above the left eye with the 9mm but was still breathing.

Shock: A number of his relatives and siblings were at home at the time of the accident and are said to be distraught
Knox County Sheriff’s Captain David Shaffer told 10TV.com a firearm was recovered from the house.
Shaffer described the incident as an 'unfortunate accident' and said the information gathered during the investigation leads him to believe the victim is the one who pulled the trigger of handgun, although no make, model or caliber of the weapon was identified.
