Ways to handle grief/loss

Grief & Loss

Grief & Loss
You may associate grief with the death of a loved one, but any loss can cause grief, including the loss of a relationship, your health, your job, or a cherished dream. After a significant loss, you may experience all kinds of difficult and surprising emotions, such as shock, anger, and guilt. Sometimes it may feel like the sadness will never let up.
While these emotions can feel very painful, accepting them as part of the grieving process and allowing yourself to feel what you feel is necessary for healing.
As you deal with your loss, remember that there is no order or timetable for grief. Everyone grieves differently, but there are healthy ways to cope and heal from the pain.

1. Coping with Grief & Loss – There is no right or wrong way to grieve, but there are healthy ways to cope with the pain and express your emotions in ways that allow you to heal.
2. Supporting a Grieving Person – You may not know what to say or do when someone you care about is grieving, but you don’t need to have answers. Simply being there makes a big difference.
3. Coping with a Breakup or Divorce – Even in the midst of the sadness and stress of a divorce or breakup, you have an opportunity to learn from the experience and grow into a stronger, wiser person.
4. Coping with Pet Loss – It’s natural to feel grief and sadness when a beloved pet dies. The key to coping is to accept your feelings and embrace the emotions you feel.
