Shakira and her footballer boyfriend Gerard Piqué purchase Spanish home but it's in need of some work

She only confirmed their relationship in March last year but Shakira and her boyfriend Gerard Piqué have bought a house together.
The smitten couple have made the all-important decision to live together and have purchases a large home in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona.
However, although Shakira, 35, and Gerard, 25, may be excited about moving in their new property - it may not be the perfect love nest judging by the work that was being done there today.

Despite featuring a sturdy security gate, two garages and a large balcony, a skip was seen being pulled out of one garage and was full to the brim with rubbish meaning a lot of work may have been done inside.
Several workmen were seen overlooking the renovations and are no doubt going to ensure that the property is perfect for the singer and her footballer boyfriend.
Once it's finished, the happy couple will be able to enjoy some of the best views of the area from their new home.

The pair were spotted in a rare public display of affection last month when Shakira went along to one of Gerard's football matches.
Following Barcelona FC's win of the Spanish King's Cup, Shakira congratulated the dark-haired sportsman with a lingering kiss on the lips as the crowed looked on.

Shakira and the former Manchester United player, met last year while shooting the video to her song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).
The song is the official track of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which was won by Spain.
Her romance with Gerard comes after she was in an 11-year relationship with Argentine lawyer Antonio de la Rua.
