1 Elizabeth Georgina  Gail Villiers.    BORN: 19 October, 1952,                             to the Hon. Nicholas and Mary Villiers.     NAPPY NOTE: The Queen’s first godchild born during her reign. From 1980, her married name became Jewson.

2 Elizabeth Harriet Colville.                BORN: 3 December, 1952, to Sir John and Lady Margaret Colville.              NAPPY NOTE: Goddaughter Elizabeth’s mother was a lady-in-waiting to Princess

Elizabeth, her father was a private secretary.

3 Henry Alan Walter Richard Percy (was the 11th Duke of Northumberland). BORN: 1 July, 1953 to the 10th Duke and the Duchess of Northumberland. NAPPY NOTE: Godson Henry once dated Naomi Campbell’s mother. He died on 31 October, 1995, aged 42.

4 Victoria Ann Rhodes. BORN: 27 September, 1953, to Denys and the Hon. Margaret Rhodes. NAPPY NOTE: Goddaughter Victoria’s mother was a bridesmaid at her cousin the Queen’s wedding, and wrote bestseller The Last Curtsey in 2011.

5 Lady Virginia Mary Elizabeth FitzRoy. BORN: 10 April, 1954, to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Grafton. NAPPY NOTE: Goddaughter Lady Virginia’s mother Ann Fortune Smith was a lady-in-waiting to the Queen.

6 Christopher Abel Smith. BORN: 28 June, 1954, to Brigadier Sir Alexander Abel Smith and Henriette Cadogan. NAPPY NOTE: Godson Christopher’s mother was a lady-in-waiting to the Queen for 38 years from 1949.

7 Princess Friederike of Hanover.             Born: 15 October, 1954, to Prince Georg Wilhelm of Hanover and Princess Sophie of Greece and Denmark. NAPPY NOTE: Princess Friederike’s mother Sophie, was Prince Philip’s sister.

8 George Reginald Oliver Molyneux Herbert (now the 8th Earl of Carnarvon). BORN: 10 November, 1956, to the 7th Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.  NAPPY NOTE: Godson George owns Highclere, home of Downton Abbey.

9 Elizabeth Alice Dugdale. BORN: 21 June, 1957, to Sir John and Lady Dugdale. NAPPY NOTE: Goddaughter Elizabeth’s mother, Kathryn, a lady-in-waiting, was likened to ‘a stately galleon in full sail’ by the press during a state visit to the Vatican in 1961.

10 Granville George Fergus Leveson-Gower (now the 6th Earl of Granville). BORN: 10 September, 1959, to the 5th Earl and Countess Granville. NAPPY NOTE: Godson George runs a salmon smokehouse in the Outer Hebrides. The Queen often visits.

11 Prince Andrew (Andrew Albert Christian Edward, now HRH Duke of York). BORN: 19 February, 1960, to HM The Queen and Prince Philip. NAPPY NOTE: Andrew was the first child to be born to a reigning monarch in 103 years. SUCCESSION: 4th.

12 James                                                    Arthur Hussey.                                           BORN: 15 August, 1961, to Marmaduke and Lady Susan Hussey.                            NAPPY NOTE: Godson James’s late father was a chairman of the BBC.           (No pictures available.)

13 Katherine Somervell. BORN: 23 August, 1961, to Peter and Diana Somervell (née Bowes-Lyon). NAPPY NOTE: Goddaughter Katherine’s mother Diana was a bridesmaid to the Queen.

14 Viscount Linley (David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones).                    BORN: 3 November, 1961, to Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon. SUCCESSION: 15th.

15 Edwina Hicks.                                     BORN: 24 December, 1961, to David and Lady Pamela Hicks. NAPPY NOTE: Godda ughter Edwina is now a model in the Bahamas.

16 The Earl of St Andrews (George Philip Nicholas Windsor).                   BORN: 26 June, 1962, to the Duke and Duchess of Kent. SUCCESSION: N/A, as he married a Catholic.

17 James Robert Bruce Ogilvy.          BORN: 29 February, 1964, to Princess Alexandra and Sir Angus Ogilvy.                                                               NAPPY NOTE: A godchild and a Royal, James is himself a godfather to Princess Eugenie. SUCCESSION: 41st.

18 Prince Edward (Edward Antony Richard Louis, now HRH The Earl of Wessex). BORN: 10 March, 1964, to the Queen and Prince Philip. NAPPY NOTE: Shortly after his birth, the Queen said, ‘Goodness, what fun to have a baby in the house again!’ SUCCESSION: 7th.

19 Lady Helen Marina Lucy Windsor (now Lady Helen Taylor). BORN: 28 April, 1964, to the Duke and Duchess of Kent. NAPPY NOTE: Lady Helen’s father was serving in the British  Army in Germany when she was born. SUCCESSION: 31st.

20 Lady Sarah Frances Elizabeth Armstrong-Jones (now Lady Sarah Chatto). BORN: 1 May, 1964, to Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon. NAPPY NOTE: A talented artist, Lady Sarah is married to artist and actor Daniel Chatto. SUCCESSION: 18th.

21 Charles Edward Maurice Spencer (now the 9th Earl Spencer). BORN: 20 May, 1964, to Viscount and Viscountess Althorp. NAPPY NOTE: Thrice-married Charles is the brother of Diana, Princess of Wales. He was Page of Honour to the Queen from 1977 to 1979.

22 Marina Victoria Alexandra Ogilvy. BORN: 31 July, 1966, to Princess Alexandra and Sir Angus Ogilvy. NAPPY NOTE: Royal rebel Marina married photographer Paul Mowatt three months before her child was born. She’d sold her story to the papers. Now a teacher. SUCCESSION: 44th.

23 Lord Nicholas Windsor (Nicholas Charles Edward Jonathan Windsor). BORN: 25 July, 1970, to the Duke and Duchess of Kent.                              NAPPY NOTE: In 2001 he became the first blood Royal to convert to Catholicism since Charles II. SUCCESSION: N/A, Catholic.

24 The Earl of Ulster (Alexander Patrick Gregers Richard Windsor). BORN: 24 October, 1974, to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.  NAPPY NOTE: The Queen’s surgeon gynaecologist delivered him by Caesarean when his mother went into labour two months early. SUCCESSION: 22nd.

25 Peter Mark Andrew Phillips.BORN: 15 November, 1977, to Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. NAPPY NOTE: The first Royal technically born a commoner in 500 years after his father declined a title and Anne turned down a duchy. SUCCESSION: 11th.

26 Lady Davina Elizabeth Alice Benedikte Windsor (now Lady Davina Lewis). BORN: 19 November, 1977, to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. NAPPY NOTE: In 2004 she married Maori Gary Lewis and they have a daughter. SUCCESSION: 25th.

27 Lord Frederick Windsor (Frederick Michael George David Louis Windsor). BORN: 6 April, 1979, to Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. NAPPY NOTE: He is now a successful banker and lives in LA with his wife, actress Sophie Winkleman. SUCCESSION: 38th.

28 Lady Rose Victoria Birgitte  Louise Windsor.                                                   BORN: 1 March, 1980, to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.                          NAPPY NOTE: Lady Rose has worked as an art assistant on two Harry Potter movies. SUCCESSION: 27th.

29 Lady Gabriella Marina Alexandra Ophelia Windsor.                                    BORN: 23 April, 1981, to Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.                       NAPPY NOTE: Works as a journalist under the name Ella Windsor.      SUCCESSION: 39th.

30 Zara Anne Elizabeth Phillips (now Zara Tindall). BORN: 15 May, 1981, to Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. NAPPY NOTE: The Queen showed was seen cradling her first granddaughter prior to a photoshoot by Lord Lichfield. SUCCESSION: 14th.

31 Prince William (William Arthur Philip Louis, now the Duke of Cambridge). BORN: 21 June, 1982, to Prince Charles and Princess Diana. NAPPY NOTE: Charles was present at the birth and asked crowds outside the hospital not to be too noisy. SUCCESSION: 2nd.

32 Princess Theodora of Greece. BORN: 9 June, 1983, to former King Constantine II of Greece and his wife Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark. NAPPY NOTE: She recently appeared in US soap The Bold And The Beautiful under the name Theodora Greece.

33 Prince Harry of Wales (Henry Charles Albert David). BORN: 15 September, 1984, to Princes Charles and Princess Diana. NAPPY NOTE: Proud dad Charles celebrated with an impromptu champagne party at a polo ground in Windsor. SUCCESSION: 3rd.

34 Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York. BORN: 8 August, 1988, to the Duke and Duchess of York.                             NAPPY NOTE: Loves mushroom picking at Balmoral with the Queen, who she calls ‘Supergran’.                             SUCCESSION: 5th.

35 Lord Downpatrick (Edward Edmund Maximilian George Windsor). BORN: 2 December, 1988, to the Earl and Countess of St Andrews.                NAPPY NOTE: Studies languages at Oxford. S                                               UCCESSION: N/A, Catholic.

36 Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena. BORN: 23 March, 1990, to the Duke and Duchess of York. NAPPY NOTE: Eugenie is studying English, history of art and politics at Newcastle – the Queen loves to hear her tales of student life. SUCCESSION: 6th.

37 Zenouska May Mowatt. BORN: 26 May, 1990, to Marina Mowatt (née Ogilvy) and husband Paul.                                   NAPPY NOTE: Best friends with her cousin Princess Beatrice. SUCCESSION: 46th

38 Lady Marina-Charlotte Alexandra Katharine Helen Windsor. BORN: 30 September, 1992, to the Earl and Countess of St Andrews. NAPPY NOTE: She modelled for Tatler with her siblings in 2010.

39 Christian Alexander Mowatt. BORN: 4 June, 1993, to Marina Mowatt (née Ogilvy) and husband Paul.                     NAPPY NOTE: His baptism got nine pages in Hello!.                     SUCCESSION: 45th.

40 Columbus George Donald Taylor. BORN: 6 August, 1994, to Lady Helen Taylor (née Windsor) and husband Timothy. NAPPY NOTE: Columbus was named after a friend of Lady Helen’s father. SUCCESSION: 32nd.

41 Flora Alexandra Ogilvy. BORN: 15 December, 1994, to James and Julia Ogilvy.                                                         NAPPY NOTE: Like William and Kate, Flora’s parents met at St Andrews university. SUCCESSION: 43rd.

42 Lady Amelia Sophia Theodora Mary Margaret Windsor. BORN: 24 August, 1995, to the Earl and Countess of St Andrews. NAPPY NOTE: The only sibling of three not raised a Catholic. SUCCESSION: 30th.

43 Samuel David Benedict  Chatto. BORN: 28 July, 1996, to Lady Sarah Chatto (née Armstrong-Jones) and husband Daniel. NAPPY NOTE: Princess Margaret’s first grandson. SUCCESSION: 19th.

44 Alexander Charles Ogilvy. BORN: 12 November, 1996, to James and Julia Ogilvy.                                                             NAPPY NOTE: A grandson of the Queen’s cousin Princess Alexandra. SUCCESSION: 42nd.

45 Cassius Edward Taylor. BORN: 26 December, 1996, to Lady Helen Taylor (née Windsor) and husband Timothy. NAPPY NOTE: Cassius arrived on Boxing Day but wasn’t due until February. SUCCESSION: 33rd.

46 Arthur Robert Nathaniel Chatto. BORN: 5 February, 1999, to Lady Sarah Chatto and husband Daniel. NAPPY NOTE: Princess Margaret went to his third birthday before her death in 2002. SUCCESSION: 20th.

47 The Hon. Charles Patrick Inigo Armstrong-Jones. BORN: 1 July, 1999, to Viscount and Viscountess Linley. NAPPY NOTE: Named after his first cousin once removed, Prince Charles. SUCCESSION: 16th.

48 The Hon. Margarita Elizabeth Alleyne Armstrong-Jones. BORN: 14 May, 2002, to Viscount and Viscountess Linley. NAPPY NOTE: Margarita was one of Kate Middleton’s bridesmaids. SUCCESSION: 17th.

49 Eloise Olivia Katherine Taylor. BORN: 2 March, 2003, to Lady Helen Taylor (née Windsor) and husband Timothy. NAPPY NOTE: Eloise was baptised at St George’s Chapel, where her parents were married. SUCCESSION: 34th.

50 Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor. BORN: 8 November, 2003, to Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex. NAPPY NOTE: The Queen’s first grandchild to be born in an NHS hospital. SUCCESSION: 9th.

51 Estella Olga Elizabeth Taylor. BORN: 21 December, 2004, to Lady Helen Taylor (née Windsor) and husband Timothy. NAPPY NOTE: Lady Helen said her fourth child was a ‘happy surprise’. SUCCESSION: 35th.

52 Lord Culloden (Xan Richard Anders Windsor).                                                  BORN: 12 March, 2007, to the Earl and Countess of Ulster.                                     NAPPY NOTE: Xan is from the Greek name Xander. SUCCESSION: 23rd.

53 Albert Louis Philip Edward Windsor. BORN: 22 September, 2007, to Lord and Lady Nicholas Windsor.                            NAPPY NOTE: The first Royal baby for several generations with Albert in his name.                                                         SUCCESSION: 36th.

54 Viscount Severn (James Alexander Philip Theo Mountbatten-Windsor). BORN: 17 December, 2007, to Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex. NAPPY NOTE: The first to wear a  christening gown commissioned by the Queen. SUCCESSION: 8th.

55 The Hon. Leopold Ernest Augustus Guelph Windsor. BORN: 8 September, 2009, to Lord and Lady Nicholas Windsor. NAPPY NOTE: Youngest son of Lord Nicholas and his wife Paola, who is descended from Croatian nobility. SUCCESSION: 37th.

56 Lady Cosima Rose Alexandra Windsor. BORN: 20 May, 2010, to the Earl and Countess of Ulster. NAPPY NOTE: The daughter of Alexander Windsor, a former soldier, and his wife Claire, a doctor. (No pictures available.)  SUCCESSION: 24th.
