But today Beth Ditto was seen making a rather more heartfelt embrace with her girlfriend Kristen Ogata on the red carpet at the Rust and Bone premiere.
The pair kissed unselfconsciously as they made their arrival together, Beth looking delighted to express her love for her wife-to-be.

The besotted couple couldn't keep their eyes off each other, and were beaming ear to ear as they greeted the waiting photographers.

Beth teamed her dress- which featured a Monroe-like plunging neckline and three-quarter length sleeves- with gold kitten heels.Her hairstyle also appeared to take inspiration from the late star, gathered in a loose bun.
Beth's eye make-up featured a fifties-style flick of black eyeliner, and added a modern twist on the look with bronze and gold shadow.
She sang at one point standing in front of the Cannes jury, Italian film director Nanni Moretti, Diane Kruger, Ewan McGregor, Jean-Paul Gaultier, actress and director Hiam Abbass, filmmaker and actress Andrea Arnold, and Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck.
On the subject of personal inspiration, Beth Ditto recently said that she finds Adele 'beautiful' and that the 'Something Like You' singer gives her 'chills'.
She told Stylist magazine: 'I love Adele so much and it's honestly not because we're both big.'
'I love that she's a f****** singer and that she just so happens to be beautiful. It gives me chills to think about it.'
