Charlize Theron has received an outpouring of love and support since announcing the adoption of her son Jackson on Wednesday.
"It's been amazing, the amount of emails and congratulations. Everyone's just been so lovely, so it's been really nice," she said on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Friday.
"I didn't think I would be a fan of the swaddling, but the swaddling is pretty amazing," she added. "It looks a bit like a straight jacket and it feels like child abuse, but for some reason they just love it."
The Prometheus actress, 36, "has always wanted to be a mom," an insider recently told a source Though she hasn't been in a serious relationship since ending her nine-year partnership with Stuart Townsend in 2010, "she is glad to be able to do it on her own now -- and is so happy to be a mom!"
Theron's baby boy, 4 months, was born in the United States, a source close to the actress verifies. He is the first child for Theron, who stars alongside Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth in Snow White and the Huntsman, in theaters June 1.
