IG Bans Drinking Joints In Police Formations
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar, has ordered the closure of shanties and drinking joints in all formations of the force.
He also ordered a total ban on hawking and sale of items, including clothes and any commodity whatsoever within all police offices nationwide.
The police boss, it was learnt, directed the observation of high standards of personal cleanliness among officers and men of the force, instructing them to dress neatly while on and off duty.
According to a police source, Abubakar charged policemen to present a better image of the force before the public and vowed to sanction any police officers with bushy moustache.
He said: “I have also ordered the immediate resuscitation of commands control rooms, and facilities to be upgraded and placed in good condition in line with best standard arrangement to be established for joints control room duty with armed forces and other security agencies for stronger partnership”
